EVP Classifications
EVP stands for Electronic Voice Phenomena. These are caught on digital voice recorders and are not heard at the time of investigation. There are 3 main classes of EVPs. These classes are A, B, and C.
Class A
To receive a Class A rating it must be very clear and everyone who listens to the recording agrees on what is being said. These do not need to be amplified or cleaned up by the use of a computer program.
Class B
This class can be understood and most people agree on what is being said. These may need to be amplified using a computer program to be clearly understood. Class B is the most common class of EVP captured.
Class C
This will be the worst voice quality captured. It is almost impossible to understand what is being said even with the help of a computer program. These are often whispers or mumbled words and may even sound robotic.
